Wearing SPF — and wearing it the right way — is the most important part of sun protection. Here’s the simple routine.

Apply 15 minutes before sun exposure. For body, use a golf-ball-sized amount (about 1 oz) and rub in until absorbed. Don’t miss your neck, ears, hands, and feet.

Use a nickel-sized amount of face sunscreen every day — even when cloudy. Layer over moisturizer or use instead of it. Spray formulas can be misted over makeup to set.

Every 2 hours, or every 40–80 minutes if water-resistant. Always reapply right after swimming, sweating, or towel-drying.

For sprays, hold close and spray until skin glistens — or spray into hands first. For sticks, swipe 4 times back and forth per area, then rub in.
